I recently picked up the new Microsoft LifeCam VX-3000. Of course, a nice shiny new great webcam is no good when it is just collecting dust. I had to put it to good use somehow. So I set off to seek out methods to send updated routine pictures to liquilife.com. After checking out several nifty programs that capture images from my webcam once a minute then uploading via FTP I decided that I didnt really want to pay for this solution. Then I stumbled on Stickam.com.
Stickam.com is a new website that allows you to stream your webcam through a nifty flash interface. Generally the site is focused on hosting a profile page that you can ‘go live’ with and have a myspace’ish type page with your streaming webcam. People can then zoom in on your camer and enter in your personal lobby and chat with you while streaming their camera to you assuming they have one. Well, this is great but I’m not interested in chatting with other webcammers. What I found to be a solution is the flash widget you can grab the html for and stick anywhere on any webpage with your live video feed while you are ‘live’. Perfect!
The flash widget is normally a skyscraper banner shaped rectangle with some advertisements under your cam etc. Well, with a little CSS trickery and modification to the flash code I was able to nicely hide 90% of the flash widget resulting in what you see in the top right of my page! Best of all the service is absolutely free. Using stickam’s flash video streamer is easy, I just hide it away in a Firefox tab and let it go, go and go.

My wife works for Cartoon Doll Emporium which is number UNO on the Alexa list of dress up doll sites. Well, she recently created this video promotion. It’s not a bad video. I assisted her a little. She truly is great at creating videos.
I got to teach myself on the art of capturing my monitor input to a video. After looking and searching the dark depths of the Internet I stumbled accross this software which did the job beautifully, plus more. Camtasia Studio is a beautiful product that I would recommend to anyone needing to capture a video from your monitor for any project, whether it be for educational purposes or making your own PC game recording. It does the job beautifully. Using this studio I could have optionally recorded my voice with the mic and even stick in a webcamera feed right into the screen video recording. Exporting your finished product gives you a large selection of finished video types including AVI, FLV, SWF, WMV and a self executable video.

Have you heard? Ensemble Studios is in the process of creating a RTS (real time strategy) game exclusively for the Xbox 360 based upon the Halo characters. The game is simple titled Halo Wars. It’s quite easy to figure out what the two races will be. In case you don’t know Esemble Studios are the ones responsible for the Age of Empires series which has been a smashing success for the PC. I’m quite hopeful that Halo Wars will offer intuitive controls given the limitations of using a controller. This, hopefully, will be that huge break the Xbox 360 needs to introduce RTS games full swings to it’s console which is the one sore spot. I know, there is Battle for Middle Earth which is a decent offering for the console. In my opinion there is a LOT of room for RTS games to grow still yet.
I am no Halo fanatic but this game is still yet very compelling. It should be interesting to see how the hype works out as well as how it coordinates with this game called Halo 3. I’ve stuck the trailer for Halo Wars right in front of your face here for easy viewing but you can also download a very high resolution trailer at the Halo Wars official site.

I love X06. It was recently announced this morning that Banjo and Kazooie will be released for the Xbox360. That is about all the information we have at the moment. Oh, I also have a trailer for you to watch as well, enjoy!
Banjo and Kazooie has a special place in my video game heart. Being a late comer to the Nintendo64 console this was the first game I played. Having switched over from the PlayStation this was a huge breath of fresh air. The colors were stunning and the characters were, at the time, funny. A bear with a bird in his backpack was an easy character to relate with in the oddest of ways. Jinjos were fun to save or ignore and laugh at. Collecting a puzzle piece was like finding a dollar bill on the ground. Good times. Let’s see if Rare can bring that type of excitement once again.

I always wondered what the people behind the “Family Guy” voices looked like. I wonder no longer. Who would have known that Cleveland was voiced over by a white man? I’ve also learned that Quagmire and Peter are voiced by the same person. How about that for a little piece of Tuesday morning tidbit factoid!

Seattle pulls off one of the most amazing victories I’ve seen. Being a huge Seahawks fan since a little child I tend to really get caught up every Sunday in the drama that is Seahawks football. If a normal Sunday is drama then you could only imagine what a wild finishing playoff game is. A heart attack. Yes. How is it I’ve grown so emotionally attached to a football team? Anyways, I could go on ad on about the game but I’ll let the video speak for it’s self on just how this wild game ended.

The crew from Girls Gone Wild made an unfortunate appearance at CES in Las Vegas. We all know who and what “Girls Gone Wild” is, that is if you have ever flipped to the Comedy Central Network after 10pm at night.
These girls demonstrate their knowledge of the “Sony Ipod”, the thing from Nintendo that has a flip open top you touch with your finger, UBS ports and even the company they are representing which is D9 or D5, they are not exactly sure. I’ve attached the video for your laughing pleasure. Thanks to I4U.com for snagging this depressing yet funny video.
And hey, since we got Girls Gone Wild on the brain I might as well toss in a picture I stumbled across on Flickr. This is Major Nelson posing with a few of the blond Girls Gone Wild models. Major Nelson, what is up with that look on your face? Please don’t ever make that face again, it’s painful to see.

Oh well, I can only hope that a recent bill in Tennessee to fine cable company up to $50,000 for displaying the Girls Gone Wild infomercials will pass. I don’t live in Tennessee but perhaps this could catch on and we could rid ourselves of Girls Gone Wild.

What is up with Paula Abdul? The Paula that I know and love on American Idol has just died. While recently conducting an interview with a Seattle based news station during a morning show she appeared to be drunk. She is so out of place that I literally felt embarrassed for her. The video was actually difficult to watch as she made a complete fool of her self. At one point of time she slams the entire city of Seattle for having the worst singers ever participate in American Idol, another time she laughs uncontrollably while leaning left to right. Yeah, it’s bad. Watch the video and lose your appreciation for Paula Abdul with me!
If you want more Paula Abdul drunken interview goodness then head on over here for another great video.

Paris Hilton has made the internet once again scavaging for her controversial videos. In a new series of videos released to the public these seem to be much worse then the previous sex videos everyone was hounding after. Well, if you have been looking for these videos, look no further! I have added all 13 of the Paris Hilton Exposed videos to the Liquilife TV player. Be warned, these videos are not for the young or weak hearted. They are of very mature content and depict lots of nudity, sex and drug usage. So hey, have at it! Watch away!
Remember when Paris Hilton forgot to pay her bill for a storage facility and all her stuff was sold to an unidentified buyer? Well the owner of all that wonderful crap launched ParisExposed.com yesterday which has a collection of photographs, home videos, diaries, love letters, recorded phone conversations, and phone numbers of friends and celebrities, which were all left behind in the storage facility. The site charges a monthly fee of $39.97 to gain access to footage of her in a “sexy bubble bath” video, as well as various shots of her in “racy situations” and footage of her drinking and using illegal substances.
Oh yes, the 13 videos? Of course, here you go! $40/month?? No way!

About a month ago I applied to be a beta tester for the new software called Babelgum. Babelgum ushers in a new era for television, blending the lean-back experience of traditional TV with the interactive and social power of the Internet all packaged into a piece of software for your PC. Yes, very much like the anticipated software Joost from the makers of Skype. This is a completely new idea so I wasn’t really sure what to expect. Well, having dallied around in Babelgum for a few days I have compiled my thoughts with some screen shots.
Since I have your attention if you have any invites for Joost and would be kind enough to share one with me my email is (JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address). Thank you!

I woke up this morning with a rather pleasant email. Joost has accepted my beta application and I now have full access to Joost Beta 0.8 release. I have not had a chance to really devote some time to Joost but it seems to be more intuitive then BabelGum right from the beginning. Expect a full review here soon. For now I’m off to enjoy some Joost goodness!
What is Joost? Joost is a new way of watching TV on the internet, which uses new and established technologies to provide the best of both the internet and TV worlds. Joost uses secure peer-to-peer technology to stream programmes to your computer. Unlike other TV and video-based web applications, it does not require users to download any files to the computer or browse through complicated websites.

Family Guy released an Episode titled “Up Late with Stewie and Brian” which will only circulate on the Internet and will never be aired on TV. This episodes runs at about 10:00 minutes and is actually quite funny in a way only Family Guy could do. Stewie is the host of a late night television show very reminiscent of David Letterman and Brian is his sidekick. Also featured in this episode is the band consisting of Cleveland, Quagmire and other familiar Family Guy characters. I’ve attached the video, enjoy!
